November 9-10, 2007 at Grace Lutheran in Elgin, TX

The Alliance met Nov. 9-10, 2007 and took several steps forward in its goal of supporting and starting mission congregations that are confessional, liturgical, catechetical and faithful.

LMA approved $300.00 per month support for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Palacios, a small but promising congregation in a growing area on the Gulf Coast. ORLC has been served by Pastor Robert LeBlanc for a number of years without subsidy from anyone.

The same amount was designated for the Montgomery Mission near the growing area near Lake Conroe north of Houston. Montgomery is a new start and will be served by Pastor David Bailes, who was called by Living Word Lutheran of the Woodlands as missionary.

The LMA also adopted a faith budget of $12,200 for the year of our Lord 2008. A number of congregations have included LMA in their church budgets for 2008 and some are intending to do so in 2009. Contributions are also received from individuals and congregations intermittently.

Pastors Toby Byrd, Andrew Simcak and Al Loeschman were elected as Chairman, Vice-chairman and Secretary respectively.

Proposed bylaws were placed before the Alliance for study and suggestions so that they can be adopted at the May 16-17, 2008, meeting at Bethlehem, North Zulch.
