May 16-17, 2008 at Bethlehem Lutheran in North Zulch, TX

The Alliance met May 16-17, 2008 and continued forward in its goal of supporting and starting mission congregations that are confessional, liturgical, catechetical and faithful.

The treasury of the LMA continued to be strong.  The treasurer's report indicated a growing balance.  There are quite a few regular congregation and individual supporters.

Though attendance was low at this meeting, the group decided to continue to meet twice each year.  The Executive Committee continues to reach out to mission minded confessionals with invitations to join LMA.

The Communication Committee reported that stationary and business cards for LMA had been printed.  The web page is up and running with a new domain name: www.l-m-a.org .  The third issue of LMA News has been mailed out.  The LMA News has been well received and readership continues to grow.  We have received no "hate mail."   Purchase of a color printer is in discussion.

The chair reported that The Remnant has an editor.  Rev. Patrick Erickson has volunteered to head up The Remnant's revival.  It will be a "theologically deeper" journal than LMA News.

Chairman Bob Hermann of the Mission Committee led a discussion of criteria for mission support from LMA.  He read a "thank you " letter from Living Savior mission in Livingston.  Rev. Robert LeBlanc reported on the growth at Our Redeemer in Palacios.  Rev. Jim Shaw spoke about the ULMA.

The LMA approved the provisional by-laws with a few minor changes.

Pr. Byrd presented a paper pro-male only leadership in the congregation.  Pr. Teichmiller will present a paper with a different slant at the November meeting.

The delegates voted a $100 memorial to St. Peter's in Bowie in memory of Pr. Bill Brummett.
